Project was a great experience and Kylie was a great person and really helped me out during the process. The only issue I had was a lot of multiple shipments and 1 item got lost in transit but they sent a replacement quickly. The only issue I had was the screws to mount the railing was very difficult to drill and screw into it. I would suggest you find a better screw without a phiiip head maybe a hex head self drilling screws.

I’m a 67 year old Dad-taught carpenter rebuilding a 40 year old deck with Ipe. The Blika delivery arrived in December but we had to wait until spring to treat the end cuts of the wood. (Who knew?)

When we were finally ready to install the railing, we discovered some items were missing from our order. Blika sent us $800 in fasteners, no questions asked even though UPS said they had been delivered. Thank you Blika!

If you’re like me and you don’t read instructions, be sure to install the top rail before stringing the cables, or the posts will pull together and you’ll have to redo it. We ripped some decking boards to make the top rails. Looks great and it’s very sturdy.

We wanted a railing that wouldn't block our waterfront view, and this cable system nailed it. The contrast between the warm wood deck and the sharp black cable posts looks amazing. It feels incredibly heavy-duty and safe for kids and guests, yet visually lightweight. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how clean the deck looks now. We just finished building this huge second-story deck with a gazebo. Since we’re pretty high off the ground, having a strong and secure railing was our #1 priority, especially for the long flight of stairs going down. We decided to pair these black metal cable posts with a wood top handrail, and the result is stunning! The tensioning on the cables was straightforward to set up, and once tight, they are rock-solid with zero flex. It keeps our elevated deck completely safe for guests without making the large space feel boxed-in. Couldn't be happier with this system!

Installed these 42" black posts on our cabin stairs and paired them with a wood handrail on top. The pre-drilled angled holes saved us so much time on the slope. All the cable wire and hardware fittings feel heavy-duty, and the whole system is rock-solid once tensioned. Love that it upgraded our stairs without blocking the view!

We recently completed installation of the Blika side-mounted cable railing system, and overall we are very pleased with the finished product. The quality of the materials is excellent, the posts are attractive, and the completed railing looks like it was always meant to be part of our home. We have received several compliments on the finished appearance.

One of the reasons we selected the Blika system was because side-mounted cable railing posts are not very common. We were happy to find a product that met our design goals, and we are very pleased with the clean, modern appearance of the finished installation.

I want to share our installation experience because it may help other DIY homeowners set realistic expectations.

Our installation was on a retaining wall block porch rather than a traditional wood-framed deck. Because of that, the supplied mounting hardware and installation instructions did not match our particular application. We ultimately designed our own mounting solution using Tapcon concrete anchors, and the posts are now extremely solid. Before purchasing, it would be helpful if buyers understood exactly what type of structure the supplied mounting hardware is intended for. If it is primarily designed for wood fascia or rim joists, customers with masonry or retaining wall construction can plan accordingly.

Once the posts were installed, the cable installation itself went surprisingly well. The instructions for the cable components were clear, and after making one cable to verify the measurements, we assembled the remaining cables with very few issues.

We also found it helpful to watch several cable railing installation videos from other DYI installers. Seeing a variety of installation techniques helped us better understand the overall process and gave us additional confidence during installation.

A couple of suggestions that might help future customers:
• The cable cutter included in the kit worked very well.
• The crimping tool produced excellent crimps, but it requires considerable force. We found it much easier to clamp the tool securely to a sturdy workbench and slip a short piece of pipe over the handle for additional leverage. That made the work much easier and more consistent.
• During cable tensioning, we found it helpful to hold the opposite fitting with pliers while turning the supplied Allen wrench. The installation video showed only the Allen wrench, but holding the opposite side prevented the fitting from rotating and made tensioning much easier.

Customer service was responsive when we had an order issue. We initially received the wrong posts, but replacements were shipped promptly. The only hiccup was that a FedEx pickup was scheduled for the incorrect posts, but no return shipping label was provided. Once that was resolved, everything moved forward.

Overall, we are very happy with our purchase and would buy this system again. The finished railing is sturdy, attractive, and exactly the clean, modern look we were hoping for. Our installation required more problem-solving than the instructions suggested, particularly because of our retaining wall block construction, but if you are comfortable with DIY projects and willing to adapt to your particular installation, we believe the finished result is well worth the effort.

Just took my time, made sure posts and rails were level and true. For the most part installation went well. Simple to install and got it done.

Drilling into our concrete steps took some patience, but this BLIKA railing looks so clean now that it's up. The black aluminum has a nice, heavy-duty weight to it and doesn't feel cheap or flimsy at all. It totally changed the curb appeal of our front porch. Really happy with the quality.
